Menu Spotlight: Lettus
posted by Mighty Staff
Lettus Café Organic is a new, progressive-minded, order-at-the-counter restaurant in San Francisco's Marina neighborhood. It serves up fresh, tasty fare made from top notch local (and often organic) produce. Even better, they offer a beer and wine menu featuring organic labels like Wolaver's and Samuel Smith, as well as sparkling wine spritzers made with an organic Cava Brut and seasonal fruit juices - rare even in a place like San Francisco.
Here's a glimpse at their appetizer list (the menu is huge):
Miso Soup with silken tofu, wakame & vegetables bowl 4.00
Soup of the Day along with a slice of bread bowl 5.00
Cup of Soup & Tossed Greens with choice of dressing 6.00Cup of Soup, Half Sandwich & Tossed Greens with choice of dressing (sandwiches: tuna, grilled tempeh, or grilled vegetable) 9.00

I recently had a yummy green curry at Lettus. I love the atmosphere, and the fact that there are tables outside. Just one caveat: don't be tempted by the huge stack of gorgeous chocolate-chip cookies! They look amazing, but taste like sawdust.
I've been there three or four times now - great, cheap, satisfying meal every time. Highlights: the cold soba noodle bowl, and the tofu scramble (so good!) -h

Everything looks de-lish! I live in Colorado so I won't be stopping in to try but one thing I noticed are the prices are actually decent! Wow! I love hummus. I don't know if you know but by the looks of it- it says a trio of r.pepper, parsely and basil hummus... any thoughts on a recipe for these? My husband makes killer hummus but I would like to taste the red pepper. Hmmmm... and Yummmmm.....
